Our History

Ahrens began as a blacksmith shop in 1906. By the 1970s, Ahrens had begun fabricating its own structural steel at Sheaoak Log in SA. In 1998 and with a 4th generation Ahrens family member at the helm, Ahrens acquired the silo manufacturing and distribution businesses of Sherwell in SA & VIC. Following shortly after in 2002, Ahrens also acquired the Webster silos business in QLD. Completing the early expansion into Agri products was the purchase of the M&S Steel Buildings business in 2003. This series of acquisitions gave Ahrens a significant footprint in QLD, NSW, VIC and SA with a satellite operation in TAS.

More recently, Ahrens has acquired key businesses MPH Rural in QLD & NSW as well as Jaeschke Silos in VIC, Pioneer Water Tanks in WA and Capital Steel Buildings in NSW. We are truly a one-stop-shop for agri products and rural infrastructure in Australia.
