Our national D&C operation specialises in large office/warehouses, distribution centres, factories, materials handling and mining infrastructure. We have D&C offices throughout Australia, as well as having access to the expertise and resources of our Steel Solutions division, which includes steel fabrication and Custom-Engineered Buildings. D&C offers clients a complete turnkey solution, from design and engineering through to project management and construction. This approach gives us control of the entire D&C process to ensure tight control of costs, seamless project delivery and quality that exceeds expectations. Our D&C capabilities also includes Materials Handling solutions, with dedicated teams in Queensland and South Australia able to design and construct large feedmills, port facilities and other grain storage and handling facilities.

Through our Design & Construct, Materials Handling and Structural Steel capabilities, we are able to supply capital works and ongoing maintenance services to mining companies throughout Australia. With businesses located in Newman (Western Australia), Toowoomba (Queensland) and Kingsford (South Australia), we are strategically located to service key mining projects in the Pilbara, Surat and Bowen Basins and Roxby Downs. In Newman, we undertake contract work for BHP Billiton, including town and mine maintenance and housing refurbishments, using all of our own in-house trades and equipment. Our mining infrastructure capabilities include office/warehouses, workshops, commodity storage, load and unload facilities, walkways and structural steel.

Our world-class steel fabrication plant in South Australia has the capacity to produce up to 240 tonnes of heavy structural steel per week. It includes a semi-automated Shot Blast and Paintline facility, with the capability to clean and paint steel to Australian standards. We also offer a Custom Engineered Buildings (CEB) alternative. This includes tapered web beams, which use up to 30% less steel. Enhancing our capacity and competitive advantage are the relationships we have developed with several overseas fabricators. All products supplied by overseas partners are quality tested and guaranteed to meet our strict internal standards, a process that is driven by the quality team in our Chinese Global Procurement office.
