The Gunnee Feedmill is located at Gunnee Station Delungra, NSW. Ahrens was commissioned to design and construct a new feedmill to facilitate a Feedlot for 10,000 head of cattle. The client required a system which would ensure improved nutrition in cattle feed as well as the replacement of an existing dry rolling mill.

The plant included

• 2 x 350 tonne grain silos
• 2 x 70 tonne tempering silos
• conveyors
• elevators
• mixing equipment
• roller mill
• control room
• electrical and control systems

This Gunnee project has lead Ahrens to undertaking another feedmill with Mort & Co in Dalby.

Ahrens completed the feedmill and steam-flaking plant in two stages over 37 weekends for Elders. Stage one of the Charlton Feedmill was completed in 2006 and stage two in 2007.

The grain storage of 2,500 tonne and steam-flaking plant at 30 tonnes per hour consisted of dual grain paths with elevated milling and no downstream mechanicals which was constructed above a concrete roof on the commodity shed.

The Ahrens project management team completed construction of the new feedmill whilst working around the existing mill.
