Engaged to design and construct a facility for hulling raw oats, Ahrens worked with the existing plant layout and delivered a four-storey building, plus offal storage and truck loading structure to incorporate raw material from previously supplied Chief silos and Hutchinson equipment.
The key features of this innovative offal handling and truck loading system include live bin bottoms, augers and dustless loading spouts.
As well as building the structure, Ahrens supplied and erected the majority of the customised storage and handling equipment, including screw conveyors, industrial discharge valves and chutes, specialist oat milling equipment and Webster hopper-bottom silos.
The new facility has enabled Blue Lake Milling to expand and improve productivity levels.
